Well, okay, I, Sarah, shall grace the site with an introduction.
I work in science fiction and fantasy, and dabble in a bit of everything else fictional. My everyday "reality" sports a healthy dose of elves, talking animals, dragons guarding stolen treasure, and aliens. And I like to write about them, too.
I'm obsessed with names and world-building - from social and environmental factors all the way to fleshing out of specific characters who may never even show up in a book. It just isn't right for me to set a story on a world I'm not able to play with. The obsession of my youth has led to the crafting of three whole galaxies, the planets and people therein, and countless short tales that are somewhere between short stories and flash fiction. Luckily, the time was not wasted; I'm using one of these model solar systems for my current project, StarStones.
StarStones is a YA science fiction novel (that may or may not actually be young adult by the time I'm through with edits). I'm also seeing how my creative energies do when they're focused on the romance genre, with one paranormal romance on paper so far. With the wealth of knowledge among the Tri Mu, I suspect these projects will blossom and grow into complete works. Works ready for me to stick my thumb out to the publishing world and see if someone will pick me up.

Roll Call: Nikki
Who Am I?
I always feel a little silly answering a question like that, because I want to be witty or charming or on some level interesting. There’s a lot of pressure in trying to be interesting -- at least there is for me. There’s also the temptation to get all deep and introspective. Who Am I? It’s quite a heavy question, isn’t it? Of course, deep and introspective tends to trend toward the boring, so that’s kind of counterproductive on the interesting front.
Alas, I cannot find myself interesting and I have no desire to be introspective, so I shall settle for mundane and hope that you all forgive me.
I wrote my first novel, a tragically horrible YA romance of which we shall never speak again, at the age of twelve and have been writing off and on ever since. I’m finally at the querying stage of my first real novel, the opening book of an epic fantasy trilogy. I also just started a new project and have two others seriously percolating (and about a million others flittering around somewhere -- probably in a broom closet in the back of my mind). Most of my background lies in romance and mystery, but lately I’ve been gravitating toward fantasy.

Roll Call: Tori
Hi I’m Tori and I’m channeling one of my many personalities to write this intro. I’m ADD when it comes to writing.
I’ve written one book set in Charleston during World War II. I’m writing a Nocturne Bite set in Charleston. I’m plotting the first book in a series targeted at Nocturne where my heroine is from….you guessed it Charleston. Charleston, SC is the perfect setting in my opinion. 400 years of history collides with modernity with a fascinating result in my opinion. Charleston has ghosts, pirates, superstition, hurricanes, history, and modern people living on that fabulous peninsula. I can’t resist using it as a setting.
I’ve written other poetry and short stories not set in Charleston, but only if I’ve got another compelling setting stuck in my head and to me, very few settings are more compelling.

And now that I've given a non sequitor to start things off, I don't feel the pressure quite so much. You know, to write some sort of intelligent introduction and all.
I'm Vert. Been writing on and off since I was in grade school. For a few years I shelved the writing and tried just living in the reality that surrounded me. But that didn't go so well, so I am returned to the safe, warm, comforting arms of pen and paper.
My preferred genre lies somewhere around science fiction, subgenre being speculative computer technology. And therein lies an irony, because I am not all that fond of technology, computer or otherwise.
Thus far, I have 2 completed manuscripts languishing for want of revisions, and myriads of story seeds waiting to germinate.

Hi, I'm Darlene, and I'm a chocoholic.

About me, hmmmm. I try to write young people's fantasy fiction, with intermittent success. I will probably spend most of my blogging time quoting other people, because for a writer, I really don't like reading my words. Other people say things so much better than I do anyway.

Roll Call: Kalayna
We're kicking off our launch here at the Tri Mu blog, so it seems the best way to start is with introductions. I guess that means I'm going first.
I'm Kalayna, and I'm both a writer and a painter with a strong leaning toward fantasy in both. My genre of choice is Urban fantasy, though on a dare from Tori, I'm currently working on a Paranormal Romance targeting the new Nocturne line. I have two complete manuscripts, and a third that will be headed into revisions in a month when the Tri Mu begin our "Don't Sweat the Revisions" in June. The goal is to have it polished and shop-able by fall. I'll be going to my first conference shortly after that, so a lot is coming up shortly--which hopefully will give me a lot to talk about here.
